Rotary Cylinder Dryer Working Principle
Drum dryer is a kind of rotating continuous drying equipment with internal heating conducting-style. Certain thickness of materials film a ttach to the drum from material liquid vessel under the drum. Heat is transferred to the internal wall of the cylinder through pipes and then to the external wall and to materials film, to evaporate the moisture in materials film so as to dry materials. Dried products are then scraped of f by the blade fitted on the surface of the cylinder, fall down to thespiral conveyor under the blade, and are conveyed, collected and packed.
Rotary Cylinder Dryer Characteristics
◎High heat effciency . The principle of heat transfer of the cylinder dryer is heat conduction and the conducting direction keeps identical in the whole operation circle. Except heat loss of end cover and radiation loss, all heat can be used for evaporation of wet materials on the wall the cylinder. The efffciency can reach 70-80%.
◎Large operation elasticity and wide application. V arious drying factors of the dryer can be adjusted, such as concentration of feeding liquid/thickness of material film, temperature of heating medium, rotating speed of the drum etc. which can change drying speed of the under dryer .As these factors have no interrelations each other , it brings great convenience to dry operation and makes it applicable to dry various materials and to meet dif ferent requirements of production.
◎Short drying period. The drying period of materials is normally 10 to 300 seconds, so it is suitable for heat-sensitive materials. It also can be pressure reducing operated if it is put in vacuum vessel.
◎Fast drying rate. As film of materials coated on the wall of the cylinder is very thin. Normal, thickness is 0.3 to 1.5mm, plus directions of heat and mass transmitting are identical, the evaporation strength on the surface of the film can be 20-70 kg.H2O/m2.h.
Rotary Cylinder Dryer Installation
The installation of machine should be carried out in accordance with whole plan. The ground should be level. Pressure gauge and safe valve should be installed at inlet of steam pipeline. The connection of flange for steam inlet should be firm.
Material to be dried
It is suitable for drying liquid raw materials or thick liquid in chemical, dyestuff, pharmaceutical, foodstuff, metallurgy and so on industries.
Rotary Cylinder Dryer Maintenance
◎Check regularly the flexible of transmission part whether there exists the phenomenon of block. The transmission part such as chainwheel should add lubricating grease regularly. Calibrate error of measuring meter such as pressure gauge regularly. For transmission part such as delta belt, if exist serous wear and tear , exchange it in time .

Rotary Cylinder Dryer Debugging
◎After installation, the machine should be carried out running experiment. Start main machine by inching and observe whether he rotating direction ofmain barrel is correct.
◎Observe whether the rotation of main roll and each transmission part is flexible and whether the inlet and outlet of steam is good and whether pressure gauge is in the range of work pressure.
◎Start motor. The operation of main barrel should be stable. After temperature is raised and material is fed, then adjust the rotating speed of motor and the uniform content of material on the barrel in order to control final moisture of material .
◎Start packing auger motor to output dried finished material. Adjust the rotating speed of packing auger motor in accordance with the amount of driedfinished product.
